Last-Minute Road Trips
Road trips are the stuff that memories are made of. Whether it’s a random drive from Central Indiana to Niagara Falls while you’re in college, or whether it’s a two-hour drive up to the New Jersey Shore to spend a day at the beach, can be exciting times for everyone. In addition, because you’re not likely to be blowing a whole lot of cash on your last-minute road trip, you generally don’t need to worry about spending a bunch of money on travel insurance.
If you want to make a last-minute trip, here are the steps you should take:
Pick a vacation destination that’s within a day’s drive. Maybe it’s a lake or the ocean. Maybe it’s the mountains. Maybe it’s a big city. Whatever it is, there’s something within a few hours’ drive that’s worth seeing. If you book within a few days of travel, you might be able to get a really decent price on your hotel and even some of your sight-seeing activities, especially if it’s off season.Negotiate. Many hotels have deals for last-minute reservations. The chances are pretty good that, if you call a hotel on a Thursday afternoon, that open rooms for Friday and Saturday aren’t going to sell. The hotel may be willing to negotiate a better price for you. If all else fails, use William Shatner to make the deal for you.Be open-minded. Maybe you have your heart set on the ocean beach. The only problem is that there isn’t an ocean beach within a day’s drive. You might have to settle for a vacation weekend on a lake. Consider going somewhere that’s off the beaten path. Talk to your friends and your relatives about hidden travel gems that they’ve been to. You might just find a place that isn’t filled with other tourists.Broaden your horizons. Maybe you always take a trip to the beach. Switch things up and go camping, instead. If you can’t stand the thought of being out in the wilderness, settle for the concrete jungle and visit a large city. You may be surprised just how much there is to do and see.Remember why you’re traveling. You want to spend quality time with your friends or family. What truly makes any vacation memorable is who you spend it with. A sleepy little bed and breakfast might create a more lasting and memorable experience than packing the family into a 3-day drive to Disney World.

Hi again,
I was taking a look at hotel prices for Friday night, but realized I know absolutely nothing about what area we should stay in. Anybody want to scrounge up a place with a great deal? Or tell me what area of DC and I can find something? I am planning on leaving Thursday afternoon to arrive around 7-8pm and leaving mid-morning Saturday to come back.

This is bad programming obvious just by looking at it. Not only can “friends” spawn out of nowhere, but those rocks appear and disappear at random (such as when you went onto a new screen and had to reverse onto the previous screen — and crashed straight into a rock that there just moments earlier).
I have to say… China is one of the most over rated and filthiest places ever been to!
