This railroad travels through mile-long tunnels, through snow-capped mountains, over huge canyons on viaducts, and through rolling green hills, giving a glimpse of some of the most picturesque landscapes on Earth.
Spain is a close second for number of World Heritage Sites with 41. Some of these sites include old cities, grand cathedrals, and beautiful natural national parks. Teide National Park is listed as one of the Twelve Wonders of Spain. Featuring a monstrous active volcano, this National Park is the most visited National Park in Spain.
One of the most profound World Heritage Sites is located in Alta in Norway. This site contains prehistoric rock art dated to be from as late as 4200 BC. Many other sites like this exist around Europe, and seeing them first hand really puts our history as a common humanity into perspective. Around 5000 pictures of herding animals, pregnant animals, and other petroglyphs show the daily lives of some of our earliest ancestors.

Leaping antelopes, prancing giraffes and snakes poised to strike are among animals and reptiles depicted with astonishing clarity in the ancient paintings.
